Dunlap Girl’s Dominance in XC

Brock Jockish and Andrew Pogue

The Dunlap Girl’’s Cross Country team is not finished after last year’s state runner-up title. The group is working hard to get over the hump and finish first this year.

Early projections have the Eagle’s girls ranked number one in the state. However, runner Sierra Cenek said, “We still feel like we have something to prove.”

When asked about the leaders on the team, Cenek said, “The seniors understand the situations we are in and can offer guidance to the many younger runners we have.”

The underclass has proven its worth on the team with star runner Campbell Peterson assisting an already well-rounded Eagles squad.

Cenek describes the practices as “Laid back but we get our work done while enjoying ourselves.”

The team hopes to see their fellow students come out and support one of their meets sometime this fall.
