The Lady Eagles volleyball team has established their winning record by having a tough defense and a steadily improving offense.

A current record of 12-8 overall, including a 4-5 record in conference play, has put the girls in a good position to excel in the second part of the season.

The highlight game of their season so far has been their contest with Limestone.

“The Limestone game was very intense,” according to senior player Samantha Snarr.

“We all played really well, both individually and as a team. Every point was hard earned. Even though we didn’t win, we saw what we could do. It was great.”

The season has definitely had its challenges. Losing senior starting hitter, Savannah Sullivan, to an ACL injury early in the season has been a major obstacle for the offense.

According to fellow senior Katy Weiss, “Her loss was a major setback for our season, but with every setback, we bounce back. We are working harder on bettering our offense every practice and every game.”

Heading into the second half of the season they have the opportunity to face every opponent in conference again.

So they are planning on coming out on top of those contests and finishing the season on a high note.
