Tyler Jakse is a football coach at Dunlap that has helped contribute to the recent success.


Coach Jakse has been interested in sports for a very long time; he grew up playing basketball, football, track and baseball. He decided to become a football coach because to mentor the students, and football is one of his favorite sports.


Most students from Dunlap only know Jakse as being a coach, however he also teaches health class and is the sponsor for the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) at Dunlap.


Jakse graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a double major in Health Studies and Kinesiology.


Jakse was asked a few questions to get to know him better:


Q: How would you describe yourself in three words?

A: I am trustworthy, dedicated and athletic.


Q: What scared you most when you first started here, if anything?

A: Taking on too much responsibility in my first year. Along with teaching, I also coach football and am the sponsor for a club. I plan on coaching basketball at the middle school level as well.


Q: Where do you see yourself in five years?

A: I see myself as a teacher, and a head coach of either basketball or football.

Q: What would you be doing if you weren’t a teacher?

A: I would like to to be a traveling business man, I think it’d be fun to travel all over the place.
