Last Thursday, the Dunlap High School choir groups hit Stage 323 to perform during the annual fall concert.

The Master and Women’s Choral, as well  as the Concert Choir opened with their first concert this year. Joining DHS choirs were the Dunlap Middle School and Dunlap Valley Middle School choirs.

Approximately 300 students participated in the fall concert this year.

Led by Mrs. Reece, the DHS and Dunlap Middle School choirs, sang a wide selection of different pieces.

Mrs. Reece said that she uses some special guidelines to select the pieces each year. “National and State standards in music help guide me. We have a wide variety of pieces on our fall concert: required State pieces, spirituals, contemporary style, folk, music theater, patriotic.”

Mrs. Seymour, who directs the Dunlap Valley Middle School choirs, uses a similar approach.

Kathleen Michelet, a soloist

t featured in “Will the Circle be Unbroken” says that her  favorite part of choir is singing the low notes in choir. When asked about her solo performance, Michelet said “The solo was fantastic because I love singing the low notes”.

The choirs have been rehearsing since the first day of school. This years All-State pieces consist of “Regina Coeli” and “Earth Song.”

The next concert is this upcoming winter.
