Senior Emma Theobald continues to soar this season by recently breaking a 200 yard individual medley swimming record at the Richwoods High School meet Sept. 30.

She swam the medley, which consists of 50 meters each of butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle swimming, in 2:01.75.

Besides this feat, Theobald has won several other swimming events this season, which adds on to her placing as a runner-up for the 100 backstroke at the Illinois High School Association state competition last year.

According to Mr. Bucher, who has been Theobald’s swim coach since she was 8 years old, she has broken many records since she first came to Dunlap High School in her freshman year.

Mr. Bucher says that he has challenged Emma as she has gotten faster by customizing her workouts.

Mr. Bucher said, “She’s got every record up there, except two” when talking about Emma in regards to Dunlap High School’s swimming records.
