The Dunlap Eagles football team is on to the second-round of playoff games and is the favorite to win the playoffs in the southern bracket after defeating their first-round opponent last Friday.

The Eagles second-round matchup will be Rich-Central. They are a southern suburb of Chicago located to the east of Tinley Park. The contest will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday on Dunlap High School’s field.

The Eagles finished Friday’s game against last-seed Streator with a score of 64-20. Touchdowns from Bennyhoff, Mangieri and Miamen helped catapult the Eagles to an early lead against Streator.

The Eagles, led by head coach Brett Cazalet, continue to defend their conference title and undefeated record throughout the playoffs.

The Dunlap football team this year has boasted a 9-0 regular season for the first time since 1993. This is also the first time the eagles have taken home the Mid-Illini Conference championship trophy.
