A new club at Dunlap High School, Table Tennis Club, is getting stronger by the day.

According to the supervisor of the club, Mr. Goodman, 40 members are a part of the club as of now. For anyone else that is interested in joining, the fee to join is $15.

Table Tennis Club is for people who are just looking to have a good time. Anyone can join, regardless of skill level or experience with the game.

The president of the club, junior Zalan Shah, said the club has eight ping-pong tables. The club also has extra equipment, so members do not have to bring paddles or balls in order to play.

Mr. Goodman said, “The top three players are Zaman Shah, Zalan Shah, and Imadh Khan.” Zaman Shah is a sophomore, and Imadh Khan is a senior.

Table Tennis Club meets after school each Tuesday and Thursday until 5 p.m. This schedule will continue until the end of February.

Zalan said the club is “Fun and not very serious. We just play.”

The club is planning on hosting a table tennis tournament with cash prizes to whoever gets in first, second, and third place sometime in January.

The exact date of the tournament is not known yet, but Mr. Goodman said it is “to be announced after winter break.”
