Eagles Starting Baseball Season Off With Wins

Spring time is baseball season, and the DHS Eagles baseball team is starting off their season with a 3-0 record already. This success can be credited to the team’s off-season work and the dedication of coach and players.

According to Coach Hatch, the team’s early success is in part to their practices and pre-game routine in which they work on offense and defense.

Senior Luke Miller agrees. He said that the team has been very motivated as early as December and that the open gyms in January and February helped them get to know each other better.

“It has helped us realize where we all can improve and where we all can play the best to help the team. Preseason we all worked hard and improved so we can come out and win this spring.”

Senior Jared Holt is looking forward to this season especially the state playoffs because “everyone is super competitive and playing well together, which creates a fun environment to play in.

“I look forward to spending time with the guys because we are all pushing to finish the season on a high note.”

Hatch said his favorite part about the season starting is just being around the “young men.”

He said, “When you combine their passion and my passion for the game, it’s fun to see them come together and model success.”
