The Dunlap High School girls soccer team is off to a great start to their 2018 season, which the team hopes can propel a deep postseason run.

With Kate Piper, Amanda Christophe, and Sierra Cenek leading the team, the Lady Eagles have eight wins, one loss, and one tie with 10 games in the books.

“One of our biggest goals is to be regional champions. Last year we lost in the first round of sectionals so it’d be nice to get past that.” said senior captain Kate Piper.

While only allowing three goals in their first 10 games, the Eagles look to use the success of their outstanding defense to help them get there.

The chemistry and close friendships formed on this team is a big part of their success says, Piper. “It is super easy for any of us to talk to each other.”

Junior Kenna Koehler shared some of those same opinions as Piper. She praised how close everyone on the team is.

Koehler also said she is proud of their defensive success, pointing out that they have had seven shutouts on the season.

Koehler sets the bar pretty high for the team the rest of the season with an eye toward postseason play.  The team has many steps to take to reach their ultimate goals, but “winning conference” and “making it as far as possible in the state series” are what the team is striving to achieve.

Go cheer on the Eagles as they take on their last few home games in the next few weeks.  And, make sure to support them during postseason play!
