Last Wave of 2018 Athletes Sign to Colleges

Eleven DHS seniors signed their college intent to play letters last Thursday, bringing the total to sign this academic year to 25.

 

Six of those signing will compete in track and field at their respective school. They are:

 

  • Kacie Evans, who will attend Aurora University. She holds the record for shot put at Dunlap.
  • Austin Klokkenga, who will participate in the shot put event at Olivet Nazarene University in Chicago. He will major in family and consumer science and he will minor in business.
  • Miranda Kruiswyck, who signed to attend Central College in Pella, Iowa.
  • Jackson Pompe, who compete in pole vaulting for the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He will major in business.
  • Aanise Sanjia, who will attend Illinois State University, where she will participate in sprinting and the long jump event. She will major in Early Childhood Education.
  • Savannah Sullivan, who will major in either speech pathology or sports psychology at ┬áSouthern Illinois University Edwardsville.

 

Three Lady Eagles softball players were also among those signing their intent last Thursday.

 

Rachel Barrington signed to Carl Sandburg College to play softball. She will major in kinesiology.

 

Bailey Cline signed to North Park University located in Chicago to play softball. She will major in nursing.

 

Rebecca White signed to MidAmerica Nazarene University for softball, she also participated in volleyball during her high school career. She will be majoring in nursing.

 

In addition, Hannah Scherder signed to Nebraska Kearney University to play volleyball; and

Emily Smith will be on the swim team at St. Louis University.
