Track season nears end as the undefeated Lady Eagles look to finish the season with a historic run with back-to-back state titles in the near month.

The girls’ track team is well on its way finishing their last home meet winning 14 of 18 events against Washington and Morton.

As they wind down towards the end of the regular outdoor season, the girls only have one thing on their mind, bringing home another state title and completing the two-peat. As of press time, they were undefeated this season.

Winning a state title again this year would prove to everyone that it wasn’t just a fluke and that Dunlap has real talent says, Coach Amanda Young.

She said the girls have worked hard all year, and are hoping it pays off come the end of the season.

The team relied heavily on their talented seniors, as well as some strong underclassmen to race past the competition this season.

The team is a very close-knit group of girls who love being around each other and competing together.

“I have made some lifelong friends on this team, and I know they’ll always be there for me,” said senior, Sarah Georgieff.

They spend a lot of time together off the track, and it shows as their relay team finishes in a top spot at every meet.

The Conference meet is this Thursday. Sectionals are next week.
