A Dunlap High School teacher balances teaching, family, and extracurriculars.

Mrs. Sally Ryon has been teaching at Dunlap for nine years. Before becoming a teacher at the high school she attended Bradley University to get her undergrad.

Mrs. Ryon teaches classes in the family consumer group. Those classes consist of: nutrition and culinary arts one, and two, parenting and childhood development, blended resource management, human wellness, interior design, FACS, and fashion.

When Mrs. Ryon is not teaching, she enjoys spending time with her family, going to her kids sporting events, bonfires, photography and going to the park. When she is needing a break, she can be found spending most of her free time shopping.

Mrs. Ryon just took on the job of becoming the freshman girls basketball coach.

She said “I am very excited to be coaching again.”

Mrs. Ryon used to be the coach at Dunlap Valley Middle School, but had to quit when she became a parent.

If she could describe herself in three words, they would be, “fun, charismatic, and outgoing,” and one of her biggest pet peeves is PDA.
