Mrs. Young is a teacher at Dunlap High School. Along with juggling the day-to-day tasks of being a teacher, she coaches the track and cross country team as well.

Mrs. Young is in her fifth year of teaching regular chemistry, honors chemistry and health science at the high school. She is a graduate from the University of Illinois where she studied chemistry and biology.

She ran track in high school and received a scholarship to run at the University of Illinois. Mrs. Young said that running in high school and college encouraged her to want to be a running coach.

When she is not teaching or coaching, Mrs. Young likes to cook, run, and do anything that involves being outdoors.

If she had a different profession other than teaching, she could see herself probably being a nurse or something to do with medicine or health.

One thing she enjoys about teaching are the kids. She believes the classes she teaches are interesting and hopes the kids agree.

When asked what her biggest pet peeve were, Mrs. Young said, “Probably repeating myself… I don’t like to say something over and I like people to pay attention.”
