The Dunlap girls swim team looks to continue their undefeated season as they move on to conference and state in the next few weeks.

The Dunlap swim team hopes to improve on their impressive 6-0 record and use it as momentum into the state playoffs.

A junior, Sophia Spolidorio, says, “Going into state week we face a lot of tension and pressure. Although, at the same time we are so excited to swim so it balances out. We are super excited for sure.”

Spolidorio swims mostly individual events such as the 200 free, 100 free and 100 breast. She believes, however, the team is still an key aspect to swimming. She believes, “Having a team helps gain confidence. It’s always nice to have someone cheering you on.”

Jim Bucher, the girls swimming and diving coach states, “The personalities of all the girls makes them fun to work with. They are the hardest working group I’ve had in years.”

The team’s hard work has shown as they have beaten some teams by as much as 75 points. As well as placing first as a team at multiple invites.

According to Bucher and Spolidorio, the team has set goals to win conference, qualify the most amount of girls for state as they can and hopefully set personal best times along the way.

The team hopes to continue their undefeated streak as they swim at University High School Thursday, Oct. 18.
