This Monday and Wednesday the Dunlap High School theater is hosting auditions for the play, “The Sound of Music¨ from 3:30 p.m. – 4 p.m.

¨The Sound of Music,¨ is a musical based on the real life story of the VonTrapp family singers. The musical portrays the story of an Austrian Abbey resident. She becomes a governess of a widowed naval captain with seven children who bring a new love of life and music into their home.

Lydia Curry, a devoted member of Dunlap´s Theater scene says, ¨Anywhere from 400-600 hours are devoted to making a play or musical happen.” Curry also says, “Appointments must be made for the singing portions of auditions.”

According to the Dunlap theater website, the musical will be performed at 7:30 p.m. January 18 and 19 and will be performed on January 20 at 2 p.m.

¨The Sound of Music,¨ can be expected to run from two to three and a half hours because of the length of the script and the length of the film that was released in 1965.
