More than 100 juniors and seniors became the newest members of the National Honors Society during the induction ceremony last Wednesday.

At the ceremony, 113 new members in an official ceremony which including the introduction of each member and the traditional candle lighting demonstrated NHS’s four principles: scholarship, leadership, service and character.

Ms. Rada, on of the sponsors, said NHS is an opportunity for upperclassmen in high school to “provide service in the community and to show their academic leadership”.

“The ceremony was very exciting and a great experience,” said new junior inductee, Maddie Phillips. “I am excited to be a part of NHS.”

The 135 current members of DHS also attended the ceremony to pass on the torch.
